Van Houtte K Cups are a sugary sweet mild mess
Listen. You know I like my coffees bold, dark, black, extra bitter. This isn’t because I’m pretentious about my Keurig K-Cups. I’ve just had a whole lot of coffee in my lifetime, and I know exactly what I like. Van Houtte K Cups are, by definition, not for me — because they run to the most mild extreme that you can possibly be on the coffee spectrum. That said, I’m extremely good at seeing the world through other peoples’ eyes, so when I evaluate these Keurig K-Cups I’m not going to be hyper-critical just because they’re not my cup of– coffee. I just want to acknowledge from the start, full disclosure, that I don’t like Van Houtte K Cups because they’re too mild for me.
Van Houtte K Cups = Chocolate, Fruit
When you run down the list of Van Houtte K Cups flavors, you’d seen a clear trend even if you were blind. Pretty much all of their flavors are some sort of chocolate, fruit, or other extravagant flavor meld. You’re not going to get a coffee that’s just… coffee. Instead, you’re going to a get a sugary flavor mix that will deliver what it promises. I couldn’t stand to taste a whole lot of the Van Houtte K Cups, so my review of these Keurig K-Cups is going to be a little insubstantial compared to my previous entries. The thing is, I just can’t get through the taste.
So Van Houtte K Cups come in the following flavors, as far as I can tell from browsing them on Amazon: French Vanilla, Chocolate Raspberry Truffle, Raspberry Truffle, White Chocolate Mint, Creme Brulee, Javanation Vanilla Cupcake, Belgian Chocolate, Hazelnut, Pecan, Vanilla Hazelnut, Butterscotch, Candy Cane (what??), Chocolate Macaroon, Apple Caramel Pie, and the list goes on and on.
If you’re into these kinds of mild flavors, Amazon can accommodate you here. Now, to be entirely fair, Van Houtte K Cups also come in a couple token medium-roast and one extra bold flavor. The thing is, they specialize entirely in their mild, fruity, sugary flavors. Other brands do the medium and bold thing a lot better, as they spend, you know, a lot more time on developing it. Van Houtte K Cups seem to look to special novelty ‘flavor coffees’ for their Keurig K Cups selection, so if that’s what you’re into, this will probably be a favorite brand for you.
